Hello my fellow hackers, in this blog post, we will be reviewing Pentester Academy, which will help you to decide whether you should take up the courses and certification of Pentester Academy.
This post has not been sponsored by Pentester Academy. So, we will just give you, our opinion. After that, it will be your decision to take the courses and certifications which is offered by Pentester Academy.
What is Pentester Academy?
Pentester Academy is an online learning platform to learn ethical hacking and penetration testing.
It is a great resource for those who want to get into the cybersecurity field. It’s a SecurityTube.net initiative that was created by Vivek Ramachandran.
Vivek is the Founder and Chief Trainer at SecurityTube.net. He discovered the Caffe Latte attack, Broke WEP Cloaking – a WEP protection schema.
He is also considered one of the real gurus out there for Wireless Penetration Testing.
Back to the point, Pentester Academy offers 40+ video courses that contain 1500+ HD video tutorials, along with that it also provides 2000+ online labs to practice whatever you’ve learned, with a Certificate of completion.
Plans and Pricing
Pentester Academy is a subscription-based online learning platform which means you’ll have to take their monthly or yearly subscription.
At the time when I am writing this review, they are offering $69 for the monthly subscription & $249 for the yearly subscription.
The pricing is very low and affordable as compared to the value they are providing in their courses.
They provide AttackDefence online labs which give you a hands-on learning experience, which is very important for preparing higher level certification exams like OSCP.
Although by practicing on these AttackDefence labs, you can’t do the preparation of OSCP level. Still, you can start your career from here.
Pentester Academy Online Bootcamp
Apart from online courses, they also provide Online Bootcamps in which you will get live training by the instructors at an affordable price.
In the live training, you can interact with expert mentors, to clear your doubts and structure your learning process.
They offer lots of online boot camps which is conducted in batches which means you will need to register yourself first for the next available batch.
After completing the Bootcamp you will get the certification which can be validated online.
If you want to know more about their online Bootcamps you can visit here.
Pentester Academy Red Team Labs
Additionally, it offers 4 Red Team Labs for both aspiring and seasoned red teamers. Remember this is not for beginners, you need some good experience in penetration testing and you’ll also need to have a proper understanding of Red Team activity.
In this lab, you will understand, analyze and practice threats/attacks against a modern Windows network infrastructure.

Now I think that this information is enough for you to know about Pentester Academy.
My personal opinion
If you’ve gone through the complete article, you might have understood what is Pentester Academy.
Coming to my personal opinion, it may be a controversial point. But I think they are offering lots of things at very minimal cost and anyone can get started into infosec with Pentester Academy.
There are lots of other online learning platforms as well like Udemy & EDX which offer the same courses at a minimal price and they also provide the Certificate of completion.
So at first, I will suggest you that start your learning process by reading books because, in the beginning, you’ll have to understand the basic concept. Books are always been a great source of information and it is the cheapest way to get started before investing more in online courses and boot camps.
Here is the list of Top 5 amazing books which I recommend you to read.
- Penetration Testing – A Hands-On Introduction to Hacking
- The Hacker Playbook 2 & 3
- Gray Hat Hacking
- Metasploit – The Penetration Tester’s Guide
- Hacking – The Art of Exploitation
Conclusion
Again, telling you that I am not against these online learning platforms because they are a good place to kick start your career. But I believe first try to learn on your own after that think about online courses and boot camps.
Although the decision is yours, how do you like to learn more, if you like online courses and boot camps more, then Pentester Academy might be a good option for you.
