It supports 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth 2.0, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. The laptop also has a headphone socket. The laptop weighs 3 pounds and runs on Windows 10 Home.
Design
There are many things to love about the Acer Swift 3 315-41 design. The first is its lightweight and slimness, which makes it easy to carry. The metal chassis gives it a premium appearance and feel. However, the webcam’s position at the bottom makes video calls difficult.
Display
The Acer Swift 3 Sf315-441 display has many great features. The first is the stunning visuals. The vivid colours and incredible detail are impressive. Even viewed from an angle the display is clear and easy-to-see.
The touch screen is also extremely responsive and accurate. We experienced no mis-taps and accidental inputs when using the device. However, the screen could have been brighter. It can sometimes be hard to see what’s displayed in direct sunlight.
Overall, the Acer Swift SF’s screen is very impressive. It’s one the best Windows 10 devices we have ever seen, and it will be a hit with anyone who buys it.
Keyboard
Acer Swift3 sf315-441 is a great option if you want a laptop that has a stunning display and great performance. But before you buy the Acer Swift 3 sf315-41, make sure you know about the keyboard as well as its trackpad.
The keyboard of the Acer Swift SF’s keyboard is backlit but not very bright. It’s quite dim. You might have difficulty seeing the keys under low-light conditions.
The trackpad on Acer Swift 3 Sf315-41’s is large and simple to use. The trackpad does not have any buttons. To do all your clicks or gestures, the touchpad will be required.
Performance
Acer Swift SF is a good all-around performer. While it is not the fastest laptop tested by us, it is still a solid performer. The Swift SF scored a respectable 3,344 on Geekbench 4’s overall performance test. This score is in line with the Core i5-8250U CPU.
Our OpenOffice spreadsheet macro test showed that Swift SF paired 20,000 name and address pairs in three minutes and nine seconds. It’s a bit slower than the average 3:03 and the Asus VivoBook S15 (3 minutes and 9 seconds) as well as the Lenovo ThinkPad T470 (2,58).
However, the Acer Aspire E 15 (14:20) took nearly one minute to complete the same task. Swift SF was able to duplicate 4.97GB worth of multimedia files in just 42 seconds. It did this at a rate 118 MBps. It beats both the average (83 Mbps), and the E 15 (56 Mbps), but falls short of the VivoBook S15 (122 MBps), and ThinkPad T470 (122 MBps).
Battery life
Acer Swift 3 sf315-441 from Acer is a fantastic ultrabook, but it has one major issue: poor battery life. Our testing revealed that the Swift SF lasted just 3 hours and 15 mins on a single battery charge. This is much lower than the average ultrabook’s 6 hour battery life.
Acer Swift 3 F315-41 has a small battery that causes poor battery life. The Swift SF-315 uses a 42Wh lithium-ion battery. Most ultrabooks use a 50Wh or more battery. Acer Swift 3sf315-41/41 will not be able last as long on one charge as other ultrabooks.
Acer Swift3 sf315-441 is not the right option if you are looking for an ultrabook that has great battery life. If you’re not averse to carrying around a charge and are looking for an ultrabook that has great design and exceptional performance, the Acer Swift3 sf315-4 is worth your consideration.
Input/Output devices
Acer Swift SF supports many input and exit devices. The keyboard and mouse are most commonly used input devices. You can also use trackballs, touchpads, or game controllers. Monitors, printers and speakers are examples of output devices.
Monitors
Acer Swift SF comes in a choice of two display sizes: a 14-inch or 15.6 inch. Both displays have 1920×1080 resolutions and are equipped with LED backlighting that allows for consistent colours and clear images. The 14″ display has an antiglare coating that reduces reflections. The 15.6″ display is a touchscreen display for quick navigation.
Storage
Acer Swift SF-314 is a notebook that’s slim and lightweight. It is also the most portable with a 14-inch display and a small chassis that measures 0.71 by 12.7x 8.8 inches (HWD), and weights 2.65 lbs. The ZenBook 3 (2.5 lbs), the smallest notebook in its class, has a smaller 12-inch display and is lighter than all others.
The Swift SF-314’s solid magnesium-aluminium chassis feels sturdy and premium, as do most ultrabooks this price. The lid is matte and resists fingerprints. Inside, the deck is brushed aluminium with an Acer logo etched in the centre. You won’t feel any creaking or flexing when you grip the notebook tightly with one hand, or open the lid with the opposite.
Acer Swift3 sf315–41 had to make some sacrifices to keep the Swift SF-314 lightweight and compact. The left side has a single USB 3.0 connector, an HDMI output of full size and a headphone port. There are two additional USB 3.0 ports on the right, one doubles as a charger port and another that can read SD cards. It’s that simple. Thunderbolt 3 and Ethernet support are not available. If you require these features, you will need to use an adapter.
Acer picked a solid-state drive (SSD), of 256GB for storage and memory. This is a good amount for an ultrabook. The 256GB SSD is not expandable so consider ordering the 512GB version. You won’t have much storage space after installing Windows 10 Home, and all of the bloatware, that comes with it.
Acer used 4GB of RAM to review our unit. This is Acer’s base model, which you can upgrade to 8GB if ordered. The same configuration is used by many ultrabooks at this price point, so we recommend getting more RAM. Some models feature a soldered on design that makes it impossible to upgrade your system without disassembling it. Swift SF-314 features two SODIMM slot under the bottom panel. If you need more memory than 4GB later down the road, it’s as simple as adding another stick.
Conclusion
Acer Swift 3 is a great choice for anyone who is looking for a new laptop. It offers many great features, such as a slim, lightweight design, a fast processor and long battery life. Although it does not have a high resolution screen, the laptop is still great for the price.
