Most companies, whether large or small, have to get through a lot of registration and paperwork if they want to be running within the country. When companies begin growing, getting through the paperwork that should have been their foundation is quite challenging, and when they are larger and do not have their base in place, they can get in trouble or leave themselves open to getting in trouble. According to a study, most companies are not even sure about the point where they turn from a small company into a large one and keeping their ongoing trajectory in mind, should have their paperwork in place.
To simplify the registration process, the Government created an easy method allowing people to get through it conveniently. The previous registration processes were quite challenging and needed time and effort, so much so that it would deter people from getting through the process. When they noticed multiple challenges, they simplified the process to get more people to complete the registration. They did this by creating the Udyog Aadhar scheme and taking the registration online. They created an online platform that had all the information that people could need. Not only were the application forms available, but it also had the processes and the various applications that business owners had to get through if they wanted to make sure their business was in a decent place.
Udyog Aadhaar is a Unique Identification Number provided by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, under the Government of India. The scheme began in September 2015 and is also known as the Aadhaar for Business. In the initial stages of launching the scheme, there wasn’t much interest in it, however, by July 2018, more than 48 lakh Indian MSMEs registered under Udyog Aadhaar. The Government thought that it would make sense to begin rebranding the scheme and pushing people to get through it again. 2020 has seen a lot of companies shut and a lot of people out of work. With so many people not getting through their jobs and using their talents to earn, the Government went back to encourage them to register so they could avail benefits and assist in getting a boost when competing with companies already having a headstart in the space.
Some of the benefits of signing up for the Udyog Aadhaar are
Simplify the registration process
Companies registering themselves are a big help since they would then have the paperwork necessary to get through the process, assisting and legally pursuing small and micro industries. Furthermore, it would assist them with other processes and provide information when they have to get through more of the registration processes.
Unemployment control
By promoting small and micro industries, people will begin starting their businesses, increasing the chances of getting new startups. Additionally, it will reduce unemployed in the country, giving and people a lot of new opportunities.
Increase competition for companies
The Government is bent on promoting trade in India. The more industries in our country, the more the chances of India becoming financially stable. Additionally, companies can coordinate or compete with one another which would significantly assist in the process of improving and getting better.
While these rules might apply to companies in general, there are slightly different rules that apply to companies dealing with food in any capacity. Food business operators have to go through another registration process and get their hands on a food licence. They can get through the application process through an FSSAI Registration which is an organization that monitors and governs the food business in India.
Depending on the type of work that the company is getting done, their annual turnover, the number of branches that they have across India and several other factors, the category of food licence that they apply for would vary. Furthermore, if the owner is running several businesses, they have to apply for each one separately, which is a mandatory requirement.
The primary intention of the FSSAI and food licence is to protect the people consuming the food that is worked on, and the people working within the food industry as well. There are frequent inspections that they should be aware of so they can be sure that they are following all the rules and doing their best to stay true to the registration.
